Harshini started practicing Iyengar yoga more than fifteen years ago while still working in the corporate world as a marketing executive. However, over time, Harshini found that she was scheduling her corporate work life around spending months in India studying yoga with Swati and Rajiv Chanchani (senior Iyengar yoga teachers). She attained her Introductory Teaching Certificate in 2006 and has since been actively teaching.
Harshini has studied with the Iyengar family on two occasions in Pune, India - most recently in July 2011 – and has attended numerous conventions in London with BKS and Geeta Iyengar.
Harshini continues to attend weekly classes with Senior Iyengar Teachers Richard Agar Ward and Alaric Newcombe.
Harshini’s teaching style is dynamic, focused, and passionate based on her personal experience of Iyengar yoga, which has inspired her to transform her life and lead a more Vedic lifestyle.
In addition to her yoga teaching vocation, Harshini has trained as an Ayurvedic Medical Practitioner. Harshini has MSc and BSc degrees in Ayurvedic Medicine to complement her MBA and Honours Business Administration degrees.
She is married to a Canadian and has a three-year-old daughter.

then completed her teachers training in India with Master Viswanath – the nephew of Patthabhi Jois,
and has spent time with Patthabhi Jois himself in Mysore.
She consistently attends International workshops with teachers such as John Scott, Lino
Miele, Donna Farhi , Rolf Naujakat, Richard Freeman and David Swenson.
Debbie’s teaching is heavily influenced by the Ashtanga use of breath Bandhas and foundation, she
encourages students to practice with an open heart to flow with the breath in order to quieten the
mind and create a lightness and strength.
Debbie has a real love of practising and teaching yoga which incorporates many styles. She has
a strong but compassionate, deep and progressive style with a friendly, warm and responsive
personality. You will find her both enthusiastic and encouraging: working with you to get the best
out of your yoga practice.
Self Practice is a unique way in which to practice yoga in a more individual way. Knowledge of the
Ashtanga sequence is useful but not essential and you practice at your own pace with the help and
guidance from a teacher tailoring your practice to your own individual needs.
